His extensive work includes mostly oil paintings and drawings, but also murals, stained-glass windows, objects and sculptures in different materials. A number of pieces are owned by public institutions.
House, garden and family
Max Läubli lived with his wife Madeleine in a very old and well-preserved house in the Italian part of Switzerland. His studio stands in the wild garden behind the house. The old studio, where Madeleine works, is also part of the property.
It is a family of artists. Madeleine Läubli-Steinauer is a textile artist. Her works, made of many kinds of cloth, depict angels richly varied in colour and form. She has exhibited in the German, French and Italian parts of Switzerland.
Sibylle Ritterband-Läubli, the eldest daughter, lives in Vienna and is an artist as well. She creates strange and fantastic objects out of different materials, called "les Sibylliens", which have been exhibited in London, Buenos Aires and Vienna.
